Charlie was diagnosed with stage 2B Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the age of 22. During treatment, he juggled part time work and a full course load at MaryWashingtonUniversity in pursuit of a college degree in business administration. To the amazement of his nurses, he often studied and completed his work while receiving chemotherapy. When asked what advice he would give to other young adults facing a cancer diagnosis, Charlie wrote “I would always express to people that there are no limits to what you can do. You should live each day to the fullest and never stop to dwell on anything.” Charlie is engaged and looks forward to completing school, beginning a career and starting a family.
