Kyle was diagnosed with melanoma as a high school senior. He is training to be an Olympic weightlifter while attending Texas A&M University. He gave up a spot at the Olympic Training Center to attend college full-time. And his has shown his strength and will win attitude by defending his title as national weightlifting champion in between surgery and interferon treatment. He advises young cancer survivors to realize that although you can't change your diagnosis, "[you] can chose to be miserable or chose to move on with life with a positive attitude."
