At the time of his Ewing’s Sarcoma diagnosis, Oliver was in the middle of a semester pursuing a degree in Construction Management with a minor in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University. Oliver managed to complete his semester despite chemotherapy, surgery and radiation. He also stayed active in extracurricular activities though his membership in the American Concrete Association and the Constructor’s Club. Upon graduating with honors, Oliver hopes to pursue an MBA and ultimately start his own construction/development company that he intends to name “Ewing Development” as a nod to his cancer diagnosis. Oliver acknowledges his journey writing “the more it takes to get what you want, the more you cherish what you have and what you get.”
